Four-Wheel Alignment Service
Nissan Four-Wheel Alignment in Hazelwood, MO
Driving a Nissan car, truck, van, or SUV is a truly exceptional experience. The impressive handling makes for a smooth, responsive drive. But if the wheels become misaligned, this can all change. If you’re driving an all-wheel-drive Nissan model with independent suspension, you’ll likely need regular four-wheel alignment service, also called an all-wheel alignment. Learn more about your vehicle’s alignment below, or just schedule your appointment at Bommarito Nissan Hazelwood. We’re proud to be the #1 Missouri Nissan Dealer for 22 consecutive years, and we provide service to drivers in Bridgeton, St. Charles, and all around the St. Louis Metro Area.
How Do I Know If My Nissan’s Wheels Are Misaligned?
If your wheels are seriously out of alignment, you may notice that your Nissan is pulling you to one side or the other as you drive on straightaways. To test this, you can always go to a flat, empty place like a parking lot and try to drive in a straight line without touching the steering wheel. However, this isn’t always reliable; misalignment isn’t still noticeable, and it can cause damage even without you knowing. For example, mild misalignment may not make your car drastically veer off the path, but it can still make your tires wear down unevenly. If you go long enough without an alignment service, you may have to replace your tires sooner, in addition to getting your wheels aligned.
What Happens During a Four-Wheel Alignment?
When our technicians perform a four-wheel alignment, they’ll inspect your wheels’ camber, toe, and caster angles. These show how the wheels are oriented relative to each other and the vehicle itself. Camber is the wheels’ angle when viewed from the front, the toe is the wheels’ angle when viewed from above, and caster is the angle of the steering axis when the wheels are viewed from the side. If the alignment isn’t what it should be, they’ll precisely adjust the angles to bring your wheels back up to factory specifications.
How Often Does My Nissan Need a Four-Wheel Alignment?
At Bommarito Nissan Hazelwood, we recommend having an alignment service performed every 12,000 miles or once a year--whichever comes first. This way, you can ensure that your Nissan continues to drive well.
